"Sam's Place" is a feature film that follows a man who thought he had everything lined up perfectly, but when his life suddenly unravels, he struggles to deal with the loss of control over his world. In the vein of classics such as: Fellini's "La Dolce Vita"; "Save the Tiger"; and "Casablanca", the film watches a man reflect on his life and the choices he's made, as he contemplates his future.

"Sam's Place" is based on the award winning short film/proof of concept, "Shutter the Doors", written and directed by Sheri Susman and starring Ian Buchanan ("Twin Peaks") & Billy Wirth ("The Lost Boys"), that screened in Cannes at The American Pavilion Emerging Filmmakers Showcase and was In Consideration for "Best Live Action Short" 2022.

SHERI SUSSMAN

Sheri Sussman was a writer on the critically acclaimed independent feature film, "MACARTHUR PARK", directed by Billy Wirth which premiered at Sundance and is distributed by The Sundance Channel. She has written, directed, and/or produced award-winning feature films, documentaries, and shorts. Sheri is a judge for the prestigious PAGE International Screenwriting Awards. She's fortunate to have worked with a vast array of respected veterans and upcoming talent in the entertainment industry. Sheri is also the founder of Spiral Gate Productions.
JUSTIN JANOWITZ

Director of Photography Justin Janowitz recently shot the critically acclaimed Netflix documentary “Blood Brothers: Malcom X & Muhammed Ali”, as well as Hulu’s docuseries “City of Angels/City of Death.” He also was the DP on many episodes of the UNSOLVED MYSTERIES reboot for Netflix. He also lensed the documentary THE WIZRD, chronicling rap super-star “Future” which was released by Apple Music in 2019.
Justin’s feature films that he DP’d include: A RECKONING with Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Terminator) and ALONE WE FIGHT with Corbin Bernsen (L.A. Law, Major League, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang). Short films Justin shot have gathered acclaim and awards nationally and internationally including Oscar qualifying films: SHUTTER THE DOORS, JUSTICE FOR VINCENT, and THE GERMAN KING.
